From art auctions to museums and galleries at world class learning institutions, as well as numerous private clients, Matt Longchamps, a New England based photographer has been documenting these facets of our world for over 20 years. Matt is a graduate of Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography with an Associate in Specialized Technology degree in photography, as well as being a magna cum laude graduate of UMass Boston with a B.A. in art focusing on art history. Presently, through macro photography, he is exploring perception, scale, and abstraction, revealing details that are often overlooked by the naked eye. He is looking to create connections and explore what’s possible through visual constructs that defy conventional viewing, while continually pushing boundaries and blurring edges, looking toward the unfamiliar, the imagined, and the new. He is also interested in using macro photography to explore the works of other artists, fabricators, and crafters uncovering hidden perspectives, material qualities, and unexpected visual experiences that are often overlooked. In doing so, he hopes that fostering collaboration can uncover new ways of seeing and understanding creative work. Additionally, Matt is open to new photography opportunities specializing in art and cultural documentation in museums or private collections. He brings a sharp eye for detail, expertise in digitization standards, and a deep understanding of museum best practices.
